Success of event "Mental Health and the Pandemic"
Our grounds are trembling, our future looks misty, our days are darker but we choose to ignore the feeling of anxiety and stress and move on with our lives with sleepless nights. This reflects how much we push our mental health to the back of the heap of our problems without even realising the fact that being mentally health would aid us to clean that heap.
As a way of acknowledging World Mental Health day, we discussed about the everyday mental health problems that we choose to ignore and how we should recognize them and deal with them. Amidst these uncertain times we need to keep reminding ourselves that ‘its okay and things will be fine.’ We need to identify and talk about how we feel. We need to value ourselves. Stress, depression anxiety went up to alarming high rates during the pandemic yet consulting a psychiatrist is considered a taboo. Ignoring insomnia is not healthy.
It is that hour of the time when we need to understand the gravity of this problem. Just a simple break or a mindful walk will make us feel relaxed, don’t we have that time for ourselves? We need to stay active, cut out on unnecessary thoughts and be surrounded even if virtually with positive people. But first of all, we should share. We should reach out. The session also involved a brief technique discussion about stress relief as well, don’t forget to look for it!
The session was graced by our founders who also shared their valuable insights on the occasion.
